The pulpit is often perceived as the exclusivity of pastors and preachers. The pastor’s job is most demanding – caring for the flock of God.

The church is misidentifying the pastor’s duty as mounting the pulpit to deliver sermons on Sundays. Yes, the pastor should preach or teach, but God may choose not to speak to the church through the pastor always. We cannot compel God to speak to the church through a person of our choice.
